Fishing, adventures and recreation in the Canadian wilderness
Kilan was born on the 5th May 2017 and
is an Alaskan Malamute. We were de-
lighted when Kilan came to live with us on
June 11th 2017. He is a really special dog,
in short a real Alaskan Malamute. Playful
and cuddly, and he thoroughly enjoys
when new guests come to the Lodge. He
is in his element in snow and water, and
he loves to lie in snow even when it’s
minus 30 degrees or colder outside. He al-
ways wants to be involved. Our guests
love it, when Kilan, like his predecessor
the wolf, howls over the lake in the
evening.
He became a father to 9 pups for the first
time on the 14th October 2018.
Lura was born on October 20th 2017 and
has enriched our Lodge since the 26th
February 2018. She is an Akbash /
Maremmano mix, a proper livestock guard
dog. She is very vigilant and protects us
and our guests from bears, wolves and
other predators. One feels safe with Lura
on their side. Nonetheless she is playful
and loves to romp around with Kilan.
On October 14th 2018 she became the
proud mother to 9 wonderful pups.
Abia is our female Maine-Coon cat. She was born on June 3rd 2012 and emigrated with us to Canada. Our snow white lady loves to lie outside
on the terrace on sunny days and observe everything going on around her. Since Abia has been in the house, the mice have had no peace. She
loves to cuddle with guests.
Sinux
is
our
sensitive
one,
even
though
he’s
a
large
cat.
He
was
born
on
April
23rd
2005
and
also
came
with
us
from
Switzerland
to
Canada.
Sinux
takes
a
bit
longer
till
he
feels
comfortable
with
new
people.
Many
of
our
guests
only
see
him
from
afar,
or
at
a
reasonable
distance
lying on the terrace.
Nera,
like
her
brother
Sinux,
was
born
on
April
23rd
2005
and
is
our
small
black
cat.
Needless
to
say,
he
also
came
with
us
to
Canada.
Nera
is
mischievous
and
would
preferably
spend
all
her
time
eat
-
ing
or
sleeping.
She
likes
to
be
comfort
-
able and loves lying somewhere warm.
Xian,
a
blue
jay,
is
our
pet
bird,
so
to
speak.
Nearly
every
morning
before
dawn
Xian
waits
in
front
of
the
Lodge
for
nuts,
and
if
we
are
late
he
likes
to knock on our bedroom window to inform us that it’s high time we got up.
Many
times,
when
Chantal
is
cooking,
he
sits
in
front
of
the
kitchen
window
telling
stories,
simply
so
that
cooking
won’t
be
boring.
Xian
has
been
visiting us practically daily for many years now, and as might be expected, has become a part of our family.
We were able to witness how Whiskey was born on October 14th 2018 as one of nine puppies of
Lura. It was a very special experience and
it deeply influenced us. So we decided that
one of the puppies should complement our
team. We opted for our little sunshine
Whiskey.
Whiskey likes to romp around and slowly
develop her own personality. She may al-
ready be very stubborn if she does not
want something. She loves to walk beside
her father or mother because she feels safe
and protected. Whiskey will quickly conquer
the hearts of our guests with their charm.
Unfortunately, Xian left us on April 13, 2019 forever.
It was a great time with you. We will miss you very much!
Do it well my friend!
You will always find the latest information on
